The approximate mass of DNA in each band is provided (0.86 μg a load) for approximating the mass of DNA in comparably intense samples of similar size.

The corrosion-resistant stainless steel is highly durable and able to withstand repeated freezing at cryogenic temperatures. Handles provide for easy removal and transport. The rack has a vertical 4 x 4 configuration and measures 543 x 112 x 230. Opening dimensions are 135 x 111 x 56 mm.
